(Ref no: 750217)The Superintendent Maintenance Execution Surface ensures the health, safety and environmental training of Shop Maintenance employees, and that budgeted production levels are realized. This is accomplished by ensuring that the Maintenance Supervisors are aware of the business plan and that the priorities, plans, and schedules are known and followed. Liaises with Production and Engineering Superintendents to ensure Maintenance schedules and plans are aligned with production requirements, standards, and specifications. Closely collaborates with other Maintenance Superintendents to ensure the crews apply consistent, safe, and effective work practices. Responsible for managing contractors, suppliers and vendors to ensure safe provision of maintenance services in line with service agreements, plans, and applicable standards. Reports to: Manager, Maintenance
Duties Include:
- Legally responsible for mine operation under your control.
- Familiarity with and actively participate in and support Health, Safety, Environment and Community related policies and programs.
- Provide input into maintenance strategies and medium term planning.
- Ensure safe and effective maintenance activities in line with production requirements and plans.
- Oversee reporting activities and make sure the maintenance and operations management is continuously informed about significant operational performance issues.
- Manage the work center capacity and control the weekly work schedule to ensure timely and accurate delivery against work management plans.
- Analyze variances, trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement of work practices across shifts.
- Bachelor’s in Engineering or related mining degree with five years mining experience (with two years in a supervisory role) -OR- 10 years of mining experience (with two years in a supervisory role).
- New Mexico mine foreman certification.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the management of heavy equipment maintenance and in an underground mine mobile equipment environment.
- A long-term record of successful completion of projects exemplifying strong planning and execution, and completing work on time and within budget.
- Excellent human relations skills, including written and verbal communication, leadership skills, as well as a strong individual safety record are essential.
- Ability to plan, organize, and complete multiple, complex, simultaneous projects.
- Ability to formulate strategies that successfully resolve complicated issues.
- Familiarity and competency with computers.
- Skills in planning, analysis and problem solving, and in mining risk awareness, hazard identification, and prevention.
- Ability to interact successfully at all levels of the organization and with customers; and work effectively in a team-oriented, rapidly changing environment.
- Valid Driver’s License also required.
