NOC TECHNICIAN-TIER 3 SENIOR

Synopsis: Job Description for NOC Tech 3

Isolate and resolve end-to-end routing and connectivity issues. Act as escalation point and oversight for difficult and critical issues. Act as the primary point of support for circuit outage restoration, routing issues, and equipment/ hardware failures. Provide technical guidance and direction for other Tier II technicians in support of a customer solutions center supporting a government agency. Must be able to work closely with government personnel and other vendors on-site staff in an Operations Center environment.
Operations Center staffed for 24x7x365 environment, Monday through Friday including weekends and Holidays.
Must be able to work shift work (7AM-3PM) (3PM-11PM), (11PM-7AM) as needed.

This position is on site at the customer Network Operations Center.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field, plus one year experience
troubleshooting Complex Network issues both circuit and routing.

Relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

Experience using Network Monitoring tools, e.g., HP Openview, SolarWinds, Netscout, Netview, Netcool, etc
Current CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, Cisco Certification a PLUS

Skills Required:
Possess the ability to effectively communicate and interact often in-person with customers on operational and maintenance issues.

Working knowledge of Physical Layer and supporting transmission systems
TCP/IP Routing and Networking
Knowledge of IP routing.
Knowledge of MPLS (Multi Protocol Layer Switching) networks.
Experience using a trouble ticket tracking system, e.g., Remedy, Peregrine, Action Request System, etc

Skills Desired:

Assist in managing escalations for high profile customer with critical missions, keeping AT&T management as well as the Customer informed during complex Customer outages

Leadership skills, Solid communication skills, and solid team building skills. Goal oriented.
