JOB SUMMARY:

Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission.  They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations.  The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

About the Position:

Duty Location: WEST VIRGINIA UNIVERSITY, MORGANTOWN, WV

    KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Provide sound advise on subject such as recruiting, retention and incentives management
  • Responsible for the development and execution of recruiting plans
  • Responsible for gathering, identifying and analyzing recruiting program issues ensuring that programs function effectively and efficiently
  • Makes recommendations to correct deficient program issues
  • Participate in recruiting activities in pre-selected areas in an effort to increase public awareness of the ROTC program

Specialized experience: To Qualify applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (GS-09).  Specialized experience is defined as: Work that involves determining enrollment eligibility for prospective Reserve Officer Training Corp (ROTC) cadets; utilizing pertinent laws and regulations to manage and award scholarship incentives; and executing marketing strategy operation orders specified by higher headquarters.

 

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:

  • Knowledge of organization structure, programs, missions and funtions
  • Ability to interpret , analyze, modify and apply a variety of laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of variaety of automated systems and related software
  • Skills in interpersonal, oral and written communication in order to recruit prospects into the ROTC program

 

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must meet the Time in Grade Restriction.

Time in Grade Restriction: Must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade (or equivalent).
