Director of Catering at Wheeling

Job Description

Our Director of Catering opportunity is located at a prestigious college dining account located in Wheeling, WV. The Director of Catering reports to the General Manager. The Director of Catering oversees all aspects of catering and retail for this account including insides and outside sales, client service, menu planning, event planning, staff scheduling, room set-up, labor costs, hiring, training, marketing, billing, and accounts receivable. Collaborates with clients and Executive Chef on menu development and room set ups and hands on duties for event execution. Responsible for extra arrangements in planning such things as rental of tables, equipment & linen, uniforms etc. Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor. This position is responsible for supporting student dining when necessary.

Job Requirements

  • 2+ years experience in managing high volume catering events with a hands on attitude.
  • Strong track record of leadership, communication, staff management and client satisfaction skills.
  • Budget and P&L knowledge, along with aggressive marketing skills.
  • Microsoft Office software knowledge required.
  • Associates degree required, Bachelors degree preferred.
