I. Company Summary:
Our client is a major aerospace manufacturer in search of an Environment Health and Safety Manager. Our client is seeking a highly experienced environment, health and safety Environment Health & Safety Manager, responsible for all Environment Health & Safety issues associated with the day-to-day operations at their Bridgeport, WV facility, reporting directly to the General Manager. The position will provide leadership and direction to our clients overhaul & repair business unit.  The manager will plan, manage, and lead the EH&S function providing strategic and tactical direction, leadership, and technical support, to advance EH&S requirements in conjunction with United Technologies Requirements.

III. Position Responsibilities:
• Partnering with the leadership team and line supervision to ensure EH&S regulatory compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations and adherence to EH&S Standard Practices.
• Identification of health & safety hazards and controls to mitigate risks.
• Coordinating corporate-wide programs, risk mitigation and injury prevention initiatives, based on the needs of the site.
• Participating in pollution prevention/waste reduction initiatives.
• Working on cross-functional projects that interface with other groups external to and within the core EH&S team.
• Provide timely information and guidance for the General Manager and the site EH&S council and Sub-Committees, including EH&S performance trends and root cause corrective actions for injuries and near misses; and support in the development and implementation of strategic action plans to achieve the company goal of having a hazard-free workplace, injury-free employees and an unmatched commitment to compliance and pollution prevention.
• Develop strategies in support of the Business Unit’s goals and objectives relating to safety and environmental protection. This position will work closely with the Business Unit leadership and EH&S committees in the formulation of these strategies.
• Develop and institute policies and procedures to ensure Business Unit safety and environmental protection strategies are executed across all sites through functional leadership to the onsite EH&S professional.
• Provide management counsel to those managers and line managers responsible for safety and environmental protection on a local or regional level. Such counsel will include remedial or preventative programs tailored to local and regional needs.
• Act as a principal interface for the EH&S programs/committees within the Business Unit.
• Direct responsibility for the West Virginia occupational safety, health, and environmental programs including training, program assessments and improvements, regulatory compliance, etc.
• Responsible for monthly EHS reporting.
• Ensure management information systems and measurement criteria provide a meaningful basis for program evaluation.
• Establish effectiveness standards and benchmarks to aid in evaluations across the Business Unit.
• Counsel and advise the Business Units worldwide operations to effectively implement programs leading to minimization of occupational injuries and elimination of violations of safety and environmental regulations, as well as the reduction of the associated costs with these incidents.
• Achieve compliance with all OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies. Ensure systems are in place to address and monitor on a regular basis.
• Talent Management: Develop, train, and motivate while generating a team approach with EH&S and Operations.
• Communicate corporate EH&S Management System requirements effectively; provide guidance and partner with Operations and manage implementation.
• Provide regular status updates to facilitate timely completion of EH&S Management System requirements.
• Develop/Manage/Monitor site annual EH&S Plan in alignment with Central EH&S Plan to ensure effective, timely completion of JHAs, FHRAs, Compliance Reviews, and Integration Activities.
• Effective communication with Senior leader ship, Site Leadership and associates.
• Provide professional problem solving input to both short term and long term issues.
• Manage and provide recommendations on EH&S resources required.
• Implement reduction of work site incidents/accidents in alignment with EH&S reduction goals.

IV. Position Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field and a minimum of 6 years of experience is required. (Master’s degree a plus!)
• Demonstrated success in leading and implementing EH&S programs and systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership, organization and project management skills.
• Able to perform/lead a variety of tasks, planned and unplanned, with an exceptionally high level of quality to meet target dates.
• Ability to communication and work with all levels of the organization.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office suite products.
• Demonstrated understanding of standard EH&S reporting methods and metrics.

V. Compensation:
• $75k-$130k. Base salary will be based on the experience level of the candidate.
