Overview:A new state-of-the-art direct-to-consumer fulfillment center is currently seeking a talented individual to fill the "Safety Specialist" position.- Very stable, well-known, and well-respected brands (Macys and Bloomingdales).- Air-conditioned facility. Growth potential for exceptional people.- Unpaid 30-minute lunch breaks.Key Accountabilities:- Act as First Responder to work related and non-work related issues.- Assist with internal audits.- Assist with OSHA required training for all associates.- Spend majority of shift on floor observing and coaching safe work practices/material handling- Enter training, audits, and accidents in Safety Measurement System.- Participate and assist in coordination of various Macys safety initiatives and programs.- Prepare and assist Safety Manager in full facility audits and Loss Reduction Index audits.- Adherence to Macys process for accident investigations and follow-ups.- Strict attention to detail on timeliness and accuracy of Safety Measurement System.- Serve as safety "go-to" person in absence of Safety Manager- Any other function management deems essential.Skill Summary:- Medical First Responder (First Aid, CPR, AED certified)- Safety Conscious- Attention to detail- Flexible and adaptable to change- Team Player- Ability to understand and communicate directions in the FC regarding Standard Operating Procedures and security & safety guidelines- Ability to lift 25lbs- Ability to stand for extended periods of time- Ability to walk for extended periods of time- Computer experience preferred; willing to learn the Macys Safety Measurement System- Proficient in MS-Office applications (Word and Excel)Macys is an Equal Opportunity Employer, committed to a diverse and inclusive environment.
