Outreach Customer Service Representative at Charleston

Job Description

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Delivers presentations on how to apply for health insurance coverage and enroll in a qualified health plan using the new Health Insurance Marketplace portal on-line.

• Conducts face-to-face outreach and enrollment services, including education on health plan options and public health programs to clients at Medicaid offices, health provider sites and or community-based organizations.

• Builds an understanding of how to reach and communicate with underserved populations.

• Assists West Virginians with the application and enrollment process.

• Builds connections with community and faith-based organizations and maintains professional and positive relationships with all organizations and clients.

• Travels (limited) to reach underserved populations in West Virginia.

• Maintains updated knowledge of public and private health insurance options as well as the Health Insurance Marketplaces.

• Recommends improvements to outreach material and tools based on the experience of using them.
 
• Tracks work completed and time worked with online tracking tools. Raises issues of concern and/or problems with the In-Persona Assistor Lead.

• Meets all standards established for this position as outlined in the corresponding annual performance criteria and bonus template for this position.
• Performs other duties as may be assigned by Management

Job Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent is required.
  • College degree or equivalent experience preferred;
  • knowledge of the West Virginia Medicaid, CHIP, and vulnerable populations experience making presentations to groups and providing one on one assistance;
  • knowledge of West Virginia community events preferred;
  •  ability to follow directions;
  • ability to handle pressure;
  •  excellent organizational, interpersonal, effective written and oral communication skills;
  • ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment;
  • ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously;
  • ability to work as a team member, as well as independently with limited support; and ability to deal with changes in policy and/or procedure.
  •  Computer Literacy required; proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications as Excel, Power Point, and Word.
  • Additional preferred qualifications include two years of health/human services experience; or experience working with the public - especially in a customer service or advocacy role.

FULL TIME, 40 HOURS/WEEK
